Edgemere Shield

An optional protective layer at the gateway. Shield filters DNS and outbound destinations against known-bad lists, so malware callbacks and obvious phishing domains are blocked before they reach a device.

What it does

Protection where the traffic already is

Because your traffic already passes through the Edgemere gateway, filtering adds no extra hop and no new agent. Shield is a policy you switch on: pick the categories to block, and the gateway enforces them for every connection.

  • DNS filtering against known-malicious domains
  • Category policies you choose
  • No additional agent on the device
  • Per-connection logging for review
shield policy: default block category: malware block category: phishing block category: botnet-c2 allow everything else enforced at: gateway added latency: negligible

Honest about scope

A layer, not a silver bullet

Shield blocks known-bad destinations. It is a useful baseline that complements your endpoint security — it does not replace it, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What it catches

Connections to domains and addresses already known to host malware, phishing or command-and-control.

What it does not

Novel threats, on-device compromise or content it has no signal about. Keep your endpoint controls in place alongside it.

Turn Shield on for your deployment

It is a policy switch on an existing Edgemere connection. Ask us to enable it on a trial.
